Bishop State Community College is excited to announce its Inaugural Girls Learning About Manufacturing “GLAM” Mentorship Program, a concept from Manufacture Alabama to create interest in manufacturing careers for the next generation of women in the workforce.
The GLAM mentorship program at Bishop State will allow an opportunity for current students to learn from leading women in the manufacturing industry. Students will be partnered with a mentor in engineering, finance, accounting, marketing, safety, operations, logistics, supply chain, human resources, welding, information technology, and/or lab technical roles to learn about the program’s key objectives:
On November 17th at noon, the college will host a Lunch & Match event on Bishop State’s Southwest Campus, located at 925 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, AL 36605. Each mentee will match with a mentor from a participating partner. The mentorship program will officially kick off in January 2022.
Canfor Southern Pine is the title sponsor of the Bishop State Community College GLAM Initiative with advisement and support from Manufacture Alabama.
The following companies are also participating in the mentorship program: Alabama Power, AMNS Calvert, Outokumpu, Tate & Lyle, and Vail Rubber Works.
